Event Order

Except for certain form events, your program cannot assume that events will occur in a particular order, even if they appear to be called in a consistent sequence.
The order in which Outlook calls event handlers might change depending on other events that might occur, or the order might change in future versions of Outlook.


COM - IDTExtensibility

Events when Outlook launches
COM OnConnection is called
COM OnStartup is called
Startup event is raised
MAPILogonComplete is raised


Events when Outlook closes
Quit event is raised
COM OnBeginShutdown is called
COM OnDisconnection is called



VSTO - IStartUp

Events when Outlook launches
VSTO Startup is called
Startup event is raised
MAPILogonComplete event is raised


Events when Outlook closes
VSTO Shitdown is called
Quit event is called - which way round are these 2 events
