It is possible to create perfectly good animations using the animation schemes it is also possible to create your own animations.
It is possible to apply an animation to any object on the slide, whether it is a textbox, drawing object, picture etc.
For text objects you can specify if the animation is to be applied to the text as a whole or to the individual paragraphs.
Effects appears in the Custom Animation list, top to bottom, in the order you apply them.
If you add diagram effect options, they will appear in a collapsed list under the effect that you applied to the chart.
The animated items are noted on the slide by a non-printing numbered tag that correlates to the effects in the list.
This tag appears only in normal view with the Custom Animation task pane displayed.
You can also specify if the text is displayed letter by letter
also whether the animation is activated by pressing Enter or automatically.
This is how the object will enter the slide. If you do not specify an entrance effect then the object will appear in the same position that it is on the slide.
You can press More Effects to choose from the full list of 52 effects
This lets you draw attention to an object that is already on a slide.
There are 31 different types of emphasis that can be used.

Most objects will not have an exit effect but there are a choice of 52.
Each effect that you apply has one or more property settings that you can tweak in order to customise the effect.
All the effects have a speed setting and some have additional settings that let you control the range of an objects animation (for example the Spin effect ??).
You can preview an animation by selecting Play.
In either case you must first add the effect for the text placeholder and then display the Effect Settings dialog box by clicking the down arrow next to the effect and selecting Effect Options
Timing your animations
Most animations are initiated by clicks of the mouse however it is possible to set up animations that are activated automatically. Either in a sequence or at the same time.
The first step is to get the effect list in the correct order.
Effects are added to the list in the order they are created and will not necessary be in the correct
You can drag the effects up and down in the list.
After you get the effects in the right order. Choose an option from the Start drop-down list that's near the top of the Custom Animation task pane to set the start option for each effect.
This has three options:
On Click - Starts the effect when you press the mouse or press Enter
With Previous - Starts the effect when the effect immediately before it starts. This option lets you animate two objects at the same time.
After Previous - Starts the effect when the effect immediately before it finishes.
select each effect and select the type of start option.
If all the effects except the first is set to "After Previous" the entire slide animations will run automatically once the first animation is started by pressing Enter.
The most common types of effects for each type are listed on the right of each menu.
The effects number will appear on the slide (when in Normal view) but this will not be displayed during the slide show.
