There are several ways you can insert more rows and columns:
1) Using the (Table > Insert Rows) menu.
2) Using the (Table > Insert Columns) menu.
3) Using the Table shortcut menu.
4) Using the Tab key.
Using the (Table > Insert Rows) menu
This will insert rows above the row that is currently selected.
Using the (Table > Insert Columns) menu
This will insert columns to the left of the column that is currently selected.
Using the Table Shortcut menu
You can also right click and use the shortcut menu to insert more rows and columns.
Using the Table drop-down menu
Insert Columns to the left - Adds a new column to the left of the column containing the insertion point.
Insert Columns to the right - Adds a new column to the right of the column containing the insertion point.
Insert Rows above - Adds a new row above the one containing the insertion point.
Insert Rows below - Adds a new row below the one containing the insertion point.
You can use any of the Insert commands on multiple rows and columns at a time.
When you have a number of rows and columns selected PowerPoint will automatically insert the same number of rows or columns
For example if you select two columns and choose "Insert Columns to the left", two columns will be inserted to the left of the selected ones.
Select the same number of rows and columns as the number you want to insert.
Simply select more than one cell (row or column) before selecting the command.
PowerPoint will insert the same number that are currently selected.
For example if you select two columns and choose Insert Columns to the right, then two new columns will be inserted on the right.
Using the Tab key
Using the tab key when you are in the last cell will insert another row.
You are unable to insert individual cells into your tables. You must insert whole rows and columns and then merge the necessary cells.
Pressing Enter starts a new paragraph in the same cell and does not move you to the next cell.
Inserting additional rows and columns will increase the size of the table and the table could run off the slide.
You can easily insert more rows and columns than actually fit on the slide. If this happens you can select the outside frame to resize the table accordingly.
