Complex Chi-Square

The word complex really means tedious rather than complicated
This is an extension of the simple chi-square test and refers to any sets of samples and categories which exceed four cells in size
If the table gets too big then we are more likely to obtain "expected" frequencies which are less than 5 in size unless you increase the sample size


Another problem arises over the interpretation of the results
Even if we know that our distributions differ we have no idea exactly where in the table the difference might be caused: by several moderate difference or one or two large differences


The calculation is the same as the simple chi-square test.
