Headers & Footers

A document can have headers and footers without having sections.
This page is dedicated to handling headers and footers when you have multiple sections.
For headers and footers in a regular document, refer to the page under Layout > Headers & Footers

Linking the Header and Footer in Section 1 with Section 3

Bookmark the text in the first header that you want to appear in the third header (excluding any automatic fields)
In the third header insert a cross reference to the bookmarked text.
Whenever you edit the first header, select the third header and press F9 to update it.
The text will now be updated automatically.
